NWA National and North American Titles

So the tournaments are over and the new champs are crowned.  I have to admit I am not surprised by Arrick Andrews being the National Champ, although a bit disappointed.  I was hoping for Tyson Dean, who is great.  Hoping he gets his shot sooner rather than later to run with a title.

Andrews won the one night tournament held in his home promotion of NWA SAW.  Arrick Andrews will first renew his war with Golden Boy Greg Anothony who recently defeated Arrick to take the NWA Southern Title.  August 1 the two will go at it again at NWA Mid South.

The NWA North American Title was a bit more a surprise to me.  Putting the belt back on Tim Storm is interesting.  It adds more clout to the Empire, but Storm won this belt away from his home promotions, which I would probably say was NWA Main Event.  I had thought it might be time to put a belt on Jake Logan, but Logan lost in the first round as did Mike Foxx, who was wrestling in his home promotion of NWA Texoma.  Interestingly Andy Anderson, also of NWA ATL and teammate of Tyson Dean, made the finals to lose to Tim Storm.  I like Andy, and this was a nice step forward for him and NWA ATL.

This would seem to set up a nice feud between Storm and Dane when Jax finally returns.  Dane had already taken the strap off of Storm, so it would make sense for Dane to target Storm first.  Add in the fact Andrews is a face and so is Dane, it seems that maybe this is where Godzilla Jax Done takes aim first upon his return.
